Cookie Policy

Last updated: 10 July 2026.

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on the Kestrel website, why we use them, and how you can change your mind at any time. It sits alongside our privacy policy.

The short version

Nothing optional runs until you say yes. Our own site analytics do not use cookies at all. The only cookies we ever set beyond that are advertising cookies, used to measure whether our ads are working, and they load only if you accept them. Rejecting them costs you nothing: the site works exactly the same.

Strictly necessary

We use Cloudflare to host and protect the site. It processes your IP address and standard server-log data to keep the site available and to block abuse. This is necessary for the site to work and does not require consent.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless, it does not fingerprint you, and it does not build a profile, so it needs no consent either.

Your cookie choice itself is remembered in your browser's local storage under kestrel_cookie_consent. It never leaves your device.

Optional cookies we may set

These load only if you accept them. If this table is empty, we are not running any optional cookies at present.

Provider Category What it does Retention
LinkedIn Insight Tag
linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
Advertising Tells us how many people who saw one of our LinkedIn ads went on to download Kestrel or subscribe. Sets cookies in your browser and shares your IP address, the page you are on and, if you are signed in to LinkedIn, your member ID. Set by LinkedIn. Ad-click data is held for up to 180 days.

Where a provider appears above, it acts as an independent controller for the data its cookies collect, not as our processor. That means it decides how it uses that data, under its own privacy policy, which we have linked for you.

Your choice, and changing it

We ask before setting anything optional, and rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting. We also honour Global Privacy Control automatically: if your browser sends that signal, we treat it as a rejection and do not show you a banner at all.

If we ever add a new advertising partner, we will ask you again rather than assume your old answer still applies.
